runners

We are Dunblane Runners – a small and friendly running club with the aim of bringing runners of all abilities together. We run three times a week - on Mondays and Thursdays (6.30pm) - meet at the entrance to Dunblane Centre and Saturday at 8.30am – meet at Dunblane Cathedral Car Park.

Saturday is the "Social" run, and we have a get together for a coffee at Old Churches House after running. The Saturday session is structured to suit all abilities from beginners upwards.

We have a broad range of ages and abilities in our club. At our Saturday sessions, we have a Meet & Greet set up where one of our members will welcome you and run with you, introducing you to some of our members who would likely be running at the same pace as you. Sessions generally last 30 – 60 minutes and will vary with time of year, weather and who is taking part. We have runners from walk / run level up to, and more than, 7 mins per mile pace. Nobody gets dropped or left behind at any of our sessions.

Before you take that step of joining Dunblane Runners, we would like to invite you to one or two of our sessions and meet us all. The sessions are free. We look forward to running with you!

In response to the Covid19 crisis, Re-engage has launched Call Companions - a free service for older people who live alone and feel they could do with a friendly phone call every week or two. What's great is that the same person calls every time so, gradually, you get to know one another. Whatever you chat about, it helps lifts your spirits.

One of our volunteer call companions phones at a time that suits you, the calls last for half an hour or so and we try to make sure you have some interests in common. The service is completely free and lasts as long as you want it to.

To be eligible for a call companion you should be living alone or in sheltered housing and have difficulty getting out in normal times. However, we do consider applications on a case-by-case basis, so if your circumstances don't completely meet our criteria and you would like a call companion, please do still get in touch.

If you would like to refer anyone to Call Companions, you are welcome to refer online (with their permission, of course) at www.reengage.org.uk or simply pass on our freephone number 0800 716543. We have friendly staff who can go through the application form over the phone.

liltin lassies

The Liltin Lassies is a fun community singing group for women based in Dunblane. Classes are friendly and sociable, and anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to join! We sing many different genres of song, but specialise in Scots song. They are all taught by ear and with lyrics, in a relaxed atmosphere so you don't need to be able to read music or memorise words. There is no solo singing unless you wish to, and there are no auditions to join. The classes are tutored and run by Amy Lord, a graduate The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formally the RSAMD).

We meet weekly on a Monday for fun, relaxed practices/classes and perform gigs and concerts throughout the year, as well as meeting for social events. Classes run from 7–9 pm in the Leighton Room in the Cathedral Halls.
