Dunblane Student Drives Off with Major Golf Prize

On Friday 9th May 2014, Dunblane student Euan Douglas joined a unique group of golfers when he scored a hole in one during Dunblane New Golf Club’s first ever Corporate Golf Day. The day was designed to give local businesses a flavour of what the club has to offer the Corporate Guest as well as raising funds for a defibrillator to be available in the Clubhouse.

Euan (20), a member of the club for more than 8 years, was taking part in the event along with another 155 golfers, representing 32 companies, capped a very successful day for the Club when he claimed the day’s star prize, a Peugeot 208 sponsored by Hardie of Larbert, for his 186 yard, 5 iron drive to the 16th green.

Euan who has a 7 handicap was stunned when his shot bounced once on the green and then went straight into the hole. He later said “I was aiming at the pin to try and get a prize in the nearest the flag competition. I never thought I would get that close”
