What Do We Do?
Do your unwanted but useful items need new homes? Are you looking for something?
We help people give and get things for free in their local community. Some people have stuff they don't want any more. Other people would like things they don't have. We match them up. We don't have physical premises, or warehouses - people give things directly to each other.fake rolex sale rolex replica turkey replica diamond rolex datejust
Don't throw it away, give it away!
How Does It Work?
It's simple.
* Post a message offering an item.
* Other people see it and reply to you
* Choose who to give it to and they collect.
* You've decluttered, made someone's day and saved an item from landfill.
That's freegling! And it's all free. You can also search or browse the items offered, or post a request for something that other people might have
Why Do We Do It?
We're run by volunteers, and people have different reasons! Common reasons are:
* Many of us are passionate about the environment - and reuse means we make and destroy less stuff.
* We like helping people get things they need, which they otherwise couldn't get.
* We care about our local communities, and this is a way to make them better.
If you'd like to get involved, contact your local group.
How Are We Funded?
Freegle is free to use, but not free to run. We provide a free service with no ads. We keep costs phenomenally low thanks to our large number of committed volunteers - our annual budget averages just £10,000 each year.
Nevertheless, there are still costs involved, and if we had more money we could get more people freegling more often. We run on a shoestring...actually, we're saving up to buy a shoestring.
There are lots of good causes out there, many of them for life-threatening conditions, all of them competing for charity funding. It usually goes to bigger charities than us doing more important work, so we currently rely on voluntary donations to cover our costs.
Many current donations come from our volunteers, who are already donating their time and may not be able to donate money as well. Please think about whether you could help - even if it's just £1. Regular monthly donations are especially helpful.
What's Our Legal Structure?
Freegle is a UK-wide umbrella organisation, formed in 2009 by experienced volunteers and members of the free reuse community.
Our aims are:
* Promoting the keeping of usable items out of landfill.
* Promoting and supporting local community groups working in the area of reuse.
* Empowering and supporting volunteers working for local Freegle groups.
* Informing and educating the public about environmental matters related to the reuse and recycling of unwanted usable goods.
* Promoting sustainable waste management practices.
Each Freegle local group is run independently and is affiliated to Freegle Ltd, which provides central services to these groups and their volunteers. Freegle Ltd is an Industrial and Provident Society for Community Benefit Registration no: 32410R. Freegle Ltd is owned and governed by its members. Local and national volunteers are eligible for membership. Freegle is registered as a charity with HMRC (ref. XT32865).

Fusion Group joins forces with TV chef to open new Scottish Brasserie
July 25, 2017
The company behind a string of popular Scottish venues such as The Golf Inn in St Andrews and the Red Brolly Inn at Balinluig is set to open a new in-house brasserie at the Old Churches House hotel in Dunblane in partnership with well-known chef Kenny Wilson.
Owner and Managing Director of Fusion Group Alex McKie has forged a new business partnership with the TV chef who runs Juniper Bar & Restaurant in Tillicoultry with his wife, Marie Claire. The new joint venture is dubbed ‘Juniper at Old Churches House’ and will open its doors to the public on 1 August 2017 – replacing existing eatery the ‘Dunblathian’ brasserie.
McKie, who is the entrepreneur behind the rebirth of Old Churches House – formerly Scottish Churches House, a multi-faith Ecumenical centre – revamping it into a cosy hotel brasserie and events space in 2013.
He said: “We are hugely excited to announce that Juniper is coming to Old Churches House. It was very much a meeting of minds when, as two existing businesses operating a short distance away, we found one another and realised that it would be mutually beneficial to form a partnership.
“This not only breathes new life into our food offering as a busy hotel and events venue in one of the most vibrant ‘foodie’ parts of Scotland, but also enables Kenny and Marie Claire to open a second outlet of their successful Juniper concept.”
His new-found partner, Wilson, appeared in 26 episodes of STV’s Square Meals series.
He said: “It’s great news for us, with this major opportunity to expand and grow our restaurant concept coming along at just the right time. We are busy finalising the new menus for Juniper at Old Churches House and look forward to customer feedback once we start serving our new Dunblane clientele. We are also looking at potential new suppliers across Perthshire.”

It is hoped this will now become an annual event.
Lorna Dunbar, Support Officer at Contact the Elderly, said:
"The boys provided a fantastic afternoon for our guests and volunteers.
The food and entertainment were great but best thing was the welcoming atmosphere we received.
"Bringing the generations together in this way is lovely to see and we look forward to enjoying an afternoon with the group again soon."
Contact the Elderly organises free monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties for older people who live alone. These ordinarily take place in a volunteer host's home with guests being collected and accompanied by a volunteer driver.

Article from Stirling Observer 14 June 2017
Work on the revamp of a bridge which runs through the centre of Dunblane is set to commence. Network Rail revealed plans earlier this year to replace the Perth Road Bridge, as part of the electrification of the railway lines. The bridge carries traffic over the railway line and a section of the structure is too low for the new electric cables that will be required Now work is set to start on the project to partially replace the structure, which is set to cost around £4 million and will result in traffic on the main road through the town being disrupted for up to a year. In a letter to residents, Network Rail's Dave Boyce said: "Electrification will deliver a reduction in journey times between Stirling and Edinburgh/ Glasgow, increased capacity on morning and evening peak services and faster, longer, greener modem electric trains. "Before we can officially start work on the bridge at the beginning of July, we need to undertake some advanced enabling works on Perth Road and the surrounding road network which will allow us to maintain two-way traffic over the bridge for the majority of the project, which is due to complete in spring 2018." The removal of street furniture has already began and restrictions will be in place on the bridge from next week until July 2, with traffic set to travel in both directions along the current southbound carriageway of the road for most of the project. Clarendon Place has been converted to accommodate two way traffic. Network Rail will be present at a meeting of Dunblane Community Council this evening (Wednesday) to discuss the project. Drop-in sessions for the public are being held at the Dunblane Centre on June 26 and July 4 from 4pm to 7pm, with a special session for local businesses on June 29 at the Burgh Chambers on June 29 from 4pm to 7pm.
