Music for a Summer Evening - concert presented by Dunblane Cathedral Handbell Ensembles in Dunblane Cathedral on Sunday 8 June at 7.30pm
Experience an enchanting evening's entertainment on Sunday 8 June at 7.30pm when Dunblane Cathedral's medieval walls will reverberate to the sounds of the multiple groups of Dunblane Cathedral Handbell Ringers celebrating a number of musical milestones. Music will provide tributes to musical and cultural icons, including Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, Elvis Presley, Bette Midler, Bob Dylan, and Taylor Swift, in addition to nods to cinematic releases like Wicked and Moana 2. And, adding a classical touch, audiences can revel in the works of Johann Strauss II, Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie, and Antonio Vivaldi. As there will be music to mark railway related anniversaries there will be the chance for some fun audience participation – so you are invited to bring along a toy train whistle (the kind which makes "whoo, whoo" sound!) and join in the fun!
With an international reputation and numerous television appearances, Dunblane Cathedral's handbell ensembles showcase the rich, resonant beauty of one of the world's oldest musical instruments. Whether you're a longtime fan or a first-time listener, this summer evening of music is not to be missed. Admission at the door, or secure your ticket in advance (Adult £10; Concession £8; Children free) either at Meldrum's Newsagent in Dunblane's High Street or online: tinyurl.com/SummerEvening25
