On Monday, 18 May 2026, ScotRail completed the installation of a new Customer
Information Screen (CIS) at Dunblane Station. It is positioned to allow passengers, entering the station from the west-side of the town (i.e. through the Tesco car park), to convenientlyfind out the platform from which their train will be departing.
Terence O’Byrne, a Dunblane resident, who is a Board member of Strathallan Community Rail Partnership (SCRP) explained that “The need for the new CIS screen became necessary after the introduction of new points south of Dunblane station in December 2024. The new points have improved reliability on the Edinburgh – Dunblane services as the turnaround time at Dunblane is much quicker. However, a number of regular passengers, who accessed the station via the Tesco car park, pointed out that they could not find out whether the train they wished to catch to Stirling, or Edinburgh, was departing from Platform 1 or Platform 3 – until they crossed the bridge to see the screen on Platform 1.”
Bill Young, Chair, SCRP, added, “This is an example of how the Community Rail Partnership
can bring the needs of local people to the attention of ScotRail and help make life easier for
rail users. We wish to thank James Ledgerwood and Ros Houldsworth, Community Team,
ScotRail who have progressed the request from the SCRP Board.”
