This Arts Guild concert is a celebration of 1624 in song, with Héloïse Bernard, soprano, and Alex McCartney, lute.

Why celebrate 1624? Because it is the 400th Anniversary of the building opposite the Cathedral known as the Dean’s House.

The programme will feature sacred and secular music heard at the time, so pieces by Renaissance composers like Dowland and Gibbons, and by Monteverdi and Caccini of the early Baroque.

The concert is in the Cathedral and starts at 3pm, but the Museum, which is in the Dean’s House, will be open from 2pm for visiting before the concert.

No tickets needed – admission is by donation. www.dcag.org.uk
