Books are issued for a three-week loan period and the library can also provide free access to e-books, audio books and large print resources. We also have a wide range of DVDs available for hire.

The Library has RFID-self service units which allow customers to issue and return their own books and renew items and pay charges.

Customers can search for books using our online catalogue. Books also be reserved and renewed online (please ask at the library to register for this service).

Dunblane has a well used children’s library and we offer Bookbug sessions every fortnight, and a monthly German Language Bookbug session. Themed Storytimes are also provided on a fortnightly basis. Free Internet access is available at the library and we have 12 public access terminals. A terminal can be booked in advance and each user is entitled to two hours use per day. In addition to the Internet, you can use the library PCs for word processing, e-mailing and accessing our wide range of on-line databases.

Why not come along to one of our I.T. & ME sessions and discover what I.T. can do for you!  I.T. & ME drop in sessions take place in Stirling Council Libraries to help solve basic I.T. problems and learn new digital skills. It is completely free to take part and you don’t need to learn everything at once. You can take small steps and learn at your own pace in a relaxed atmosphere. Digital devices such as PCs, tablets and smart phones are changing the way people access information, keep in touch with one another and learn new things. In conjunction with Forth Valley College, the library offers flexi-learning delivered via computer. For more information please contact Flexible Learning Team on 01324 403186 or pop into the library on Mondays between 9am and 12 noon.

The Library receives daily newspapers and a monthly Which? subscription, as well as a large amount of public information, which is available or displayed as appropriate. We display current community information in posters and in a community diary, and the library is often lucky enough to host local exhibitions and displays.

A local councillor operates a surgery in the Library on certain Saturday mornings, see the library notice board for councillor surgery dates or ask the library staff.

Fax, photocopying and printing are available here, and the library also sells stamps, cards and local history and information publications.

Library staff can also access information on other Council services and refer you to the most appropriate person.

At Dunblane Library we aim to welcome everyone to a high quality library service, staffed by well-trained, motivated and friendly people.

Dunblane's Library is accommodated in the historic Institute Building in the High Street. It was constructed in 1908.
