Winter Reminder: Garden Waste and Cardboard Collection

As agreed by Stirling Council, wheeled brown bins will be emptied up to the end of November 2014 this year.

For Urban routes, the last uplift will be during the week of Monday, 17th to Friday, 21st November on the normal collection day.

For Rural routes, it will be during the week of Monday, 24th to Friday, 28th November.

Fortnightly collections of all wheeled brown bins will then stop for December, January and February.  Collections will resume again the first week of March 2015.

Urban and Rural waste collection calendars covering November 2014 through April 2015 can be downloaded from the Waste Services pages of the Stirling Council website.  (www.stirling.gov.uk/waste).

Free home composting bins are still available for residents to handle some garden waste and cardboard over the winter months.  They can be collected, Monday to Friday during normal business hours, from Lower Polmaise Waste Management Centre, Fallin FK7 7FG.

Households in difficult to access areas, currently without a weekly brown box collection for cardboard, can use their brown bin(s) to store cardboard until spring.  Cardboard and garden waste also can be taken to our three Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs).

During the winter, Lower Polmaise HWRC is open seven days a week from 08:30 until 17:00 (last entry 16:45). Callander and Balfron HWRCs are open Monday through Friday 17:00 - 20:00 and Saturday 10:00 - 14:00.

All three sites are closed on the Public Holidays of 25, 26 December 2014 and 1, 2 January 2015. Otherwise they are open as normal.
